This Privacy Policy explains how H6B Ventures Ltd, trading as FidusCheck, collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the FidusCheck websites, customer account, store, marketplace, FidusAI, competitions, connected devices, scan and library features, APIs and related services.
It should be read with our Terms & Conditions, Refund and Returns Policy, Cookie settings and any separate rules or notices shown for a particular promotion, marketplace feature or service.
H6B Ventures Ltd, company number 14685883, trading as FidusCheck, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy unless a separate notice says otherwise.
Registered office: 3rd Floor, 45 Albemarle Street, London, England, W1S 4JL. Privacy enquiries may be sent to contact@fiduscheck.com. The registered office is not necessarily the address for product or precious-metal returns; contact us first for return instructions.
This policy covers fiduscheck.com and related FidusCheck subdomains, accounts, pre-orders and orders, customer support, device registration and synchronisation, FidusAI, public and private scans, item libraries, marketplace activity, competitions and promotions, payment and trade-in services, emails, forms, APIs and other services that link to this policy.
A third-party website, lender, wallet, social network, courier or marketplace participant may process data under its own privacy notice. We are not responsible for how an independent third party uses personal data.
Depending on how you use FidusCheck, we may collect:
Where offered, payments may be processed by card processors, digital-wallet providers, Klarna, Clearpay or other payment partners. We receive transaction references, payment status, limited payer details, fraud signals, refund information and other data needed to administer the order. We do not normally receive or store full card numbers.
Klarna and Clearpay act as independent payment or credit providers for their services and may perform eligibility, identity, affordability, fraud or credit checks under their own privacy notices. Choosing one of those methods may result in your information being shared directly with that provider. Their privacy terms and your finance agreement apply in addition to this policy.
For bank transfers we process payer name, reference, account-related information supplied by the bank and reconciliation records. For cryptocurrency payments we may process wallet addresses, transaction hashes, network data, exchange-rate records and compliance information. Public blockchain information may remain permanently available outside our control.
Where we agree to accept Goldbacks or another payment-in-kind method, we may record photographs, denominations, quantities, serial or identifying features, condition, authenticity checks, valuation, delivery tracking and the GBP value credited to an order. We also process store-credit balances, issue and redemption history and related fraud checks.
If you submit precious metals or other valuables for assessment or order credit, we may collect item descriptions, photographs, weights, test results, valuations, ownership and source information, shipment records, identity documents where required, payment or credit instructions and communications about acceptance or return.
We use this information to assess the material, calculate an offer or credit, protect against fraud, theft, money laundering and sanctions risk, meet legal obligations and maintain an audit trail. We may ask for additional evidence or refuse, hold or report a transaction where required or reasonably necessary.
When you use FidusAI, we may process your prompt, the response, feedback, timestamps, account or session identifiers, technical logs and any product, order, device or scan information that you choose to include. Do not enter card details, passwords, private keys, identity documents, special-category personal data or other information that is unnecessary for your question.
Prompts and related data may be sent to an AI technology provider acting for us and may be reviewed by authorised personnel for support, quality, security, abuse prevention and improvement. FidusAI can make mistakes and is not used as the sole basis for a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Important account, payment, order or product information should be confirmed through the relevant page or our support team.
When you enter a competition or promotion, we may process your full name, account details, contact information, social-media username, publicly visible qualifying interactions, entry source and total, qualifying-order status, eligibility information, anti-fraud records, consent choices and communications. We do not publish your email address, postal address, payment information or order details on a leaderboard. For winners we may also process identity or age evidence, delivery details, prize-fulfilment records and limited publicity information.
Where stated clearly before entry, a public leaderboard may display the full name supplied with your FidusCheck account and your total number of entries. We use this information to operate the promotion transparently, allow entrants to check recorded entries and help detect duplicate or fraudulent participation. Leaderboard information will be removed or minimised after the promotion within the period stated in the specific rules or when it is no longer reasonably required.
You may contact us to object to or ask us to restrict public leaderboard or publicity information, and we will consider the request under applicable data-protection law. We may still publish or provide limited winner information where required by law or advertising rules, subject to any valid objection. Competition data is also governed by the specific promotion rules.
FidusCheck devices and related apps may generate device identifiers, firmware version, calibration and diagnostic data, sensor measurements, test settings, timestamps, approximate location if enabled, library profile references, scan results, notes and linked item information.
We use this data to provide testing features, synchronise accounts, diagnose faults, improve calibration and libraries, prevent misuse and support shared or public scan records. A scan result is supporting screening information and not a guarantee of authenticity, value, provenance or legal status.
Marketplace use may involve seller and buyer profiles, listing descriptions and images, asking prices, live or reference metal-price inputs, messages, offers, transaction status, delivery evidence, disputes, reports, reviews and moderation records.
Some profile, listing, price and scan information is intentionally public. Do not include personal data in a public listing unless it is necessary and you are comfortable with it being seen, copied or indexed. FidusCheck may use automated rules to recalculate displayed prices or flag unusual activity, but significant enforcement decisions can be reviewed by a person on request where appropriate.
When a device, dashboard, application or API connects to FidusCheck, we may collect API keys or token identifiers, permissions, endpoint requests, timestamps, IP addresses, error logs, rate-limit records, account links and security events.
We use these records to authenticate requests, synchronise services, troubleshoot, calculate usage, enforce access limits, investigate attacks and maintain the integrity of the platform. Secret credentials should never be placed in public content or support messages.
We collect data directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from FidusCheck hardware and software, and from third parties involved in your transaction or interaction, such as payment providers, couriers, social platforms, fraud-prevention services, marketplace users and public registers.
Where you provide information about another person, you must have authority to do so and should direct them to this policy where appropriate.
We use personal data to operate accounts and services; process and deliver orders and pre-orders; administer payments, refunds, credit and trade-ins; provide support; operate FidusAI, scans, libraries, marketplaces and competitions; communicate service updates; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; improve products; protect legal rights; and send marketing where permitted.
We do not sell personal data. We do not allow advertisers to access private conversations with FidusCheck merely because advertising or social-media tools are used elsewhere.
Our lawful bases depend on the activity. They commonly include performance of a contract, taking steps at your request before a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests, your consent and, rarely, protection of vital interests.
Legitimate interests may include operating and improving FidusCheck, securing systems, preventing fraud, handling disputes, measuring service performance and communicating with existing customers about related products where the law permits. We balance those interests against your rights. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.
We may use rules, risk scores and automated signals to identify duplicate competition entries, suspicious payments, account abuse, unusual marketplace activity, device misuse or transactions requiring additional checks. These tools may delay or refer an activity for review.
We do not intend to make a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you unless it is necessary for a contract, authorised by law or based on explicit consent with the safeguards required by law. Where applicable, you may request human intervention, express your view and challenge the outcome. A lender such as Klarna or Clearpay may make its own decisions under its own process.
We use essential cookies and local storage to provide security, accounts, baskets, checkout, consent records and other requested functions. Non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies are used only after a valid consent where required.
The consent tool should identify the active categories and providers. We will not treat consent to an unspecified future advertising tool as valid consent; if a new non-essential provider or purpose is introduced, we will update the information and request consent where necessary. You can change your choices through the cookie settings. Browser controls may also block or delete cookies, but essential features may then stop working.
Public marketplace listings, reviews, leaderboards, profile details, shared scan links and QR codes may be viewable by anyone with the link and may be copied, cached or indexed. Before publishing, check that the record contains no unnecessary personal, confidential or third-party information.
Where controls are available, you are responsible for selecting the intended visibility. We may remove or restrict public material to protect users, comply with law or enforce our terms, but we cannot guarantee removal of copies made by others.
We may share personal data with hosting, cloud, email, analytics, AI, customer-support, security, identity-verification, payment, lending, banking, crypto, accounting, professional-adviser, courier, fulfilment and technology providers; companies within our corporate group; marketplace counterparties where needed to complete a transaction; regulators, law-enforcement bodies and courts; and a purchaser or adviser in a business sale or restructuring.
Providers acting for us may use data only for authorised purposes and under appropriate contracts. Independent controllers, including lenders, banks, wallets, social platforms and marketplace participants, use data under their own terms. We disclose only what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Some providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we use an adequacy regulation, approved contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.
You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your data, subject to lawful confidentiality restrictions.
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including legal, tax, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements. Retention varies by record type.
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, logging, backups, supplier review and procedures for suspected incidents. No system is completely secure.
You must keep passwords, API keys, recovery information, wallet credentials and devices secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We will assess personal-data breaches and notify affected people and the Information Commissioner’s Office where the law requires it.
We send electronic marketing where you have consented or where another lawful rule permits it, such as the limited existing-customer exception for similar products. You can unsubscribe using the message link or by contacting us.
Service, safety, order, warranty, account and legal communications are not marketing and may still be sent where necessary. Withdrawing marketing consent does not remove records we must retain to respect your opt-out.
Subject to legal conditions and exemptions, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent; object to direct marketing; and seek review of qualifying automated decisions. We may need to verify your identity before acting and normally respond within one month, although the law permits an extension for complex or numerous requests.
Contact contact@fiduscheck.com to exercise a right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but this does not affect your right to contact the regulator.
FidusCheck products and commercial services are not directed at children. Marketplace selling, payment-in-kind transactions, precious-metal credit and credit-based payment methods may require users to be at least 18 or meet a provider’s age rules.
If we learn that personal data has been supplied by a child without an appropriate lawful basis or required consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete or restrict it. A parent or guardian may contact us with concerns.
Our services may link to third-party websites, social networks, payment providers, wallets, lenders, couriers or applications. Their privacy notices and security practices apply when you use them. Review those notices before submitting personal data.
A link or integration does not mean that FidusCheck controls or endorses every statement, decision or data practice of the third party.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers or FidusCheck services. The latest version will be posted with a revised date and, where appropriate, we will provide a more prominent notice or seek fresh consent.
